The course included nine sessions of lectures (organized in two themes: PSE, Ecological Community) in conjunction with the respective “Jinshan Ecological Community Case Study ”in practice (involved three comprehensive discussion sections and a final presentation) as the major course design. Such series of lectures inherited the distinguishing features of Dharma Drum Buddhist Studies which included “Mind and View of Life in Buddhism”, “Orthodox Chinese Buddhism and Protecting the Spiritual Environment” and “Mapping the Mind and Protecting the Spiritual Environment”, conveying the essence of PSE from the core concepts of philosophy, thread of thought to the events of dharma propagation. Also converging treatises on Ecological Community which included “Biological, Ecological and Sustainable”, “Environment and Symbiotic Development”, “Paradigm Shift of Agriculture: from Inertia to Organic”, “Developing Ecological Communities:Obstacles of Shaping the New Urban-Rural Connectivities Movements”, “Life Aesthetics”, “Retrieving the Relationship between Mankind and Land: Through Ecotourism and Environmental Education to Initiate Deep Economy” and “Community-wide Economic Reformation from the Taomi’s Ecological Village to Puli’s Butterflies Town”, unveiling the evolving thoughts of the balanced lifestyle, production and ecology, in the tendency to embody the symbiosophical wisdom of the heaven and earth harmonization, abiding a willing mind to establishing the pure land on earth.

Such series of lectures inherited the distinguishing features of Dharma Drum Buddhist Studies which included “The Dharma Drum Lineage of Chinese Chan Buddhism”, “The Theory of Mind and View of Life in Indian Buddhism”, “The Epistemology of Tibetan Buddhism”, “Life Sciences and PSE”, “Buddhist Informatics and PSE” and “Digitizing the Buddhist Resources and PSE”. Also converging multidisciplinary discourses on construction space, community empowerment and civil society which included “The Introspective Essence of Construction”, “Live Out Our Spaces”, “Environment and Symbiotic Development”, “Civil Society and PSE” and so forth lecturers consistent with the thought closely related and complement with the PSE founders Master Shengyen’s advocacy, precisely embodying with the Great Compassion to attain the vision of illuminating the mind and purifying the environment, from “Uplifting the Character of Humanity” to “Build a Pure Land on Earth”to actualize the PSE in Educational Aspiration.
